After a wonderful week at the Madisons Holiday Camp, Judy and Terry wasted no time on their return to join a Mod convention taking place at Margate on the Bank Holiday Monday. Thousands of Mods descended on Margate. The A2 Thanet Way in Kent was filled with scooters, four abreast stretching for miles as they steamed into Margate.
Meanwhile Jimmy confronted Judy’s parents at their home and after a scuffle, established that the reason Judy had gone away for such a long time was because she was pregnant. Distressed and anxious to get to Judy he sped on his bike to Margate followed by his Rocker crew who were concerned for his safety.
Judy, Terry and the rest of the Mod gang had arrived in Margate and were enjoying themselves in Margate Dreamland on the big wheel when their fun was abruptly interrupted. They saw Jimmy running across the bay being chased by his Rocker friends and a stampede of wild angry Mods hell bent on getting to him first.
They joined the affray only to witness the tragic death of Jimmy stabbed by a South London Mod.
This song starts and finishes with the funeral scene at Garston Crematorium sandwiching the description of the terrible event in Margate.
