One stormy night a Mod riding a Vespa pulled into a car park to shelter from the rain. He rushed into the café and released that he was inside the Busy Bee which was full of Rockers that night. The Rockers surrounded him at the bar whilst one of their number, who was a carpet fitter with a big van, slipped outside and loaded the vespa into his van and drove off.
When the Mod was allowed to leave, he was shocked that his scooter had disappeared. The police were called but of course nobody knew what had happened to the Mod’s scooter. Two weeks later, the police called on “Little Pete” the Mod involved to tell him that they had found his scooter, and it was at the police compound. Relieved, “Little Pete” asked where the police compound was as he would collect it that morning. Desperately trying not to laugh the policeman replied that the compound was in Aberystwyth in Wales.
Some months later the Mods planned a revenge prank on the Rockers at the Busy Bee Café. Terry and his best friend, nicknamed Nester, crept, under the cover of darkness, into the Busy Bee bike park and chained the front wheels of the five bikes together. They then went back to their scooters and rode into the bike park making as much noise as possible. The Rockers ran out to chase the Mods who had left riding up the A41. Mounting their bikes, to give chase, not noticing the chain in the dark, the bikes ended up in heap. The Mods rode back past the Busy Bee, gesticulating and shouting that Revenge was sweet. This song captures that moment.
